Build a Private Practice…Mindfully
Starting a private practice is starting a small business–usually without an MBA. Therapists don’t tend to be tough-as-nails, bottom-line types. So, as you try on a businessy alter ego to grow your practice, don’t forget the simple stuff. Take care of yourself.
Here’s a two-for-the-price-of-one site. A practice niche and a self-care opportunity. Live Mindfully is the blog/site for Integrative Health Partners in Chicago–a pair of PhDs who work with clients using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A big part of ACT is mindfulness. A great part of the site is a long list of links to mindfulness mp3s from around the web. Check out the niche, but more importantly, try putting some of the mp3s to use. Very helpful stuff. Here they are:
- ACT: Acceptance of Anxiety
- ACT: Acceptance of Thoughts
- ACT: Watching Thoughts Go By
- ACT: Leaves on the Stream
- RMIT: Mindfulness of Thinking
- IHP: Mindful Breathing
- IHP: Mindful Breathing II

Thank you for this list, a gift, of meditations and mindful practices which is easy to decipher and covers a broad range of applications. I appreciate the time and caring intention you came from putting it together for your blog.
Thanks, Kimberly. Only, the list was put together by the folks at Live Mindfully (http://livemindfully.blogspot.com/). All praise is due to them–I just cut & pasted.
